It’s A 10 Miracle Leave In Product– a true miracle!

I’ve always been hesitant when it comes to leave-in conditioners. Although my ends are on the dry side, my hair still manages to get oily, fast. Leave-in conditioners only perpetuate the problem.

However, I have to make an exception to my no leave-in conditioner rule for “It’s A 10 miracle leave in product.”

Ignore the cheesy name and obnoxious packaging and focus on the point: This product works!

It’s called “It’s a 10” because it does ten things instantly:
1) Repairs dry, damaged hair.
2) Adds shine.
3) Smoothes and controls frizz.
4) Seals and protects hair color.
5) Detangles.
6) Prevents split ends.
7) Stops hair breakage.
8) Creates silkiness.
9) Enhances natural body.
10) Flat iron spray and thermal protector.

In addition to the lengthy list of things this product does, I can also testify that it works great on curly hair. I spray this stuff in my hair while it’s still wet and my hair looks great after letting it air dry.

However, what made me the most excited about this product is that it doesn’t make my hair greasy! Yay!

So… let us recap. “It’s A 10” acts as a heat protector that makes damaged hair healthy, shiny, smooth, soft and tangle-free. What’s not to love? I highly recommend this product.

What? It’s A 10 Miricle Leave In Product
Cost? $14.20

Ps.
I’m going to go on a quick tangent here and say how important it is to protect your hair from heat damage. Blow drying, straightening, curling, etc. can RUIN your hair! If you’re not using any kind of heat protector, USE ONE. It makes a huge difference, believe me.

The product I just talked about, “It’s A 10 miracle leave in product” acts as a heat protector, AND leave-in conditioner. It’s also very affordable. However, if you’re not into the leave-in conditioner thing, I would also recommend “Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermigue.” It’s a heat-activated reconstructing milk for weakened hair, which is a fancy way of saying it’s a heat protector. Both the “It’s A 10” product and the Kerastase product can be found at amazon.com.

Does more expensive actually mean higher quality?

Blinc Kiss Me Mascara vs. L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara

41Nf92eqb7L._SL500_AA280_

On my previous blog post about L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara I received a comment from aaivory noting that Kiss Me Mascara by Blinc is a very similar product to L’Oreal’s. After further research, I see that aaivory is right. Kiss Me Mascara uses the same revolutionary “tubing” technology that L’Oreal uses.

The main difference between the two products is the price: Blinc’s Kiss Me Mascara is $19.50 on amazon.com (without the primer), whereas L’Oreal’s Double Extend Mascara is $8.99 (and comes with primer).

Clearly, my wallet likes L’Oreal’s product better. However, sometimes more expensive means higher quality. So, I sprung for the more expensive, brand-name Kiss Me Mascara by Blinc.

Because I have tried both L’Oreal’s product and Blinc’s product, I can attest that they both work well. With a primer underneath, they both lengthen lashes significantly and are easily removed with only warm water.

However, the more expensive Kiss Me Mascara was not any higher quality than its drugstore counterpart. I promise, it did NOT work any better than L’Oreal’s Double Extend. So, if you’re trying to save money, stick with L’Oreal unless you want to buy the exact same product (that doesn’t even come with primer!!) for over twice its price!

Tis the season to be… sick?! Yup, it’s that time of the year again: Flu Season! And trust me, no one hates being sick more than I do. But like you guys, I’m always on the go and sometimes don’t have enough time to get eight hours of sleep, drink lots of fluids, and relax. But there is one thing I am careful about, and that’s hand washing. In addition to washing my hands constantly, I carry around hand sanitizer. However, I’ve been noticing (as I’m sure you have too) that the combination of constant hand washing and constant sanitizing has got my hands feeling chapped and dry. (Not to mention that Purell hand sanitizer makes my hands smells like alcohol.) Yuck!

So what’s a Product Junkie to do? Oh yeah, find a solution. And I have!

There’s no reason to have chapped, stinky hands anymore! Bath & Body Works makes a fantastic, portable Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Hand Lotion! It comes in a few great fragrances, but my favorite is “Nectarine Mist” which can be found here. It makes my hands feel soft and smell delicious, all the while protecting them from germs! For this flu season, I think this product is a MUST HAVE!

What? Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Moisturizing Hand Lotion
Where to buy it? Any Bath & Body Works store, or at bathandbodyworks.com
How much does it cost? Only $4!

I’m just trying to keep you guys safe, and smelling good ;-)

L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara

31hBSAeL9cL._SL500_AA280_My roommate Brittany swears by L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara. Honestly, I think it is one of the most bizarre mascaras I have ever come across. Its claim to fame is that it lengthens lashes, doesn’t clump, and can be removed with only warm water. Brittany says it lives up to all its promises, but you don’t have to take her word for it. She’s been kind enough to allow me to take pictures of her so I can show you how this mascara works, and you can be the judge.

SO WHAT’S WEIRD ABOUT IT?

L’Oreal Paris Double Extend mascara involves a patented “tubing” technology, which is very different from anything I’ve ever used before.

First, a base coat of white primer (which L’Oreal calls the “Fortifying Extender”) is applied. Here is Brittany applying her base coat:

A “Color Magnifier” topcoat follows the white base. This is where the “tubing” technology comes in: The topcoat creates a “tube” of extended color over the lashes. Here is Brittany applying the topcoat

This “tubing” lengthens the lashes, but doesn’t fully adhere to them. Because of this, warm water is strong enough to remove the mascara. It comes off shaped like a “tube.” The texture is slimy, but everything washes away easily. This is what it looks like while it’s being removed with warm water:

As you can see, the mascara doesn’t smear or run. It simply slides off of the lashes.

The product is different, there’s no doubt about that. Outside of the fact that it is easy to remove, the best thing about this mascara is that IT WORKS. See for yourself with these before and after pictures of Brittany’s eyelashes.

Another cool thing about this product is that it still looks pretty good after it has been slept on. Brittany says that she often doesn’t even have to reapply it the next morning.

What? L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara
Where to buy it? Most drugstores carry it! Also, it can be found on amazon.
Price? Around $8.99

In my opinion, L’Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara is for worth trying because it’s cheap, doesn’t clump or smear, lengthens lashes and still looks nice the next day. But you can make your own judgments about the product. Do you think it’s too weird? Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts!
