The Stylish Solution to Your Wallet Woes

The Hobo International wallet I use is really more of a clutch than a wallet. It’s got lots of compartments, enough room for my phone and keys, and even a place to put a lipgloss. In other words, it’s huge (for a wallet).

This is all great when I want to use it as my primary purse, but not so great when I need to throw my wallet into another small bag.

So when going out at night with just a small wristlet, handbag or clutch, it’s easy to be tempted to throw my ID, credit card and cash loose into my bag. But then I’m running the risk of my important items falling out and being lost forever. (Yes – it’s happened to me.)

Enter – the small card holder. Most people think of these as just a place to store business cards, but they really are dual-purpose. They’re great for stashing a little cash, your ID, and your credit card. My friend Ashley gave me a card holder for my birthday quite a few years ago and it literally saved my life. I’ve since broken the one she gave me (I’m clumsy like that) but there are many others out there that are perfect for such occasions when you don’t have room for a full wallet.

And lately, I’ve been loving these neon Cleobella Mexicana Card Holders, $57 each (pictured above). They come in four different bright, spring colors: hot pink, yellow, green, and orange.

And in my opinion, they’re the perfect accessory for your going-out clutch or wristlet this spring. In fact, I just ordered the orange one (which is currently on sale for $37)!

What’s your system for when you’re carrying a small bag? Have you ever had something fall out of your bag (like I have) or does your current wallet always fit?

I had never thought of using a card holder as a temporary wallet! Great point! I am totally guilty of throwing all my stuff loose into my clutch.

@ Liz I know – it's so tempting to just throw everything in, but you totally regret it when you loose something!

these are so adorable! I love all the colors.

xoxo
