In addition to my dog still being in one piece and my apartment left in immaculate condition (thanks Joani for doing such a great job house/baby sitting!), I came home to a couple other exciting surprises when Carter and I flew back from Mexico last night. One of them was that a blogger collaboration I was a part of got featured in the awesome event and entertaining blog Pizzazzerie!
A group of the Portland Bloggers put together a New Years Eve Party photo shoot earlier this month in celebration of the upcoming holiday. The photo shoot showcased the bloggers’ personal expertise: interior decorating (Adi), DIY party decorations (Jenni), cooking (Bee & Kate), photography (Macey), and fashion (me!).
Because each of us has such a unique personal style that I wanted to have come though in the photos, I made the artistic decision not to give very much direction to the models about what to wear. I did, however, suggest cleanly polished nails and classy dresses (in pink, black, white or gold – keeping with the event color scheme). And bright lipstick to complete the look. The models (a.k.a. the other bloggers) brought a few outfits to the shoot and I helped them choose what to wear. And I brought accessories to tie all the looks together, such as fun sparkly party hats and glittering gold jewelry.
Jenni of A Well Crafted Party was the real brains behind this operation (and is responsible for all the fun DIY decor). But it was so fun to see this project come together, with the help of all the bloggers.
The mock New Years Eve Party was as authentic as possible (without it really being New Years Eve), with real food, decor, party outfits and even a midnight kiss. Don’t worry – that’s my boyfriend Carter I’m kissing by the piano!
