Today is my 29th birthday and I’m spending it at a dear friend’s wedding celebrating her love (and also just happen to be surrounded by some of my closest friends and favorite people). In other words, it’s a great way to spend the day.
My 20s have been awesome – lots of life milestones and countless incredible memories – but the closer I get to 30 the more I appreciate how my perspective has evolved over the past nine years. There’s a certain confidence and security that comes with getting older and I’m looking forward to the last year of my 20s and what the next decade has in store.
Hello lovely readers! Remember me? Sorry I’ve been a so MIA lately. In case you haven’t heard, we bought a house and moved this month (I know, it happened so quickly). Because of time constraints, poor Carter had to take care of the move all by himself while I was in on a last-minute work trip to Texas. Then pretty much as soon as I got home and we’d barely had the chance to start unpacking, I got super sick and was stuck in bed for a week. Then it was my bestie’s wedding in Hood River last weekend. In other words, the last 30 days have been crrraaazzzyyy. Mostly good (except for my bout of illness), but cray.
At any rate, you may remember back on May 31st when I blew up your instagram stories with boomerangs of me trying on the new Cynthia Rowley Collection for Macy’s. Such a fun collection! I also promised you a $100 Macy’s gift card giveaway! Well, I’m finally ready to deliver on that promise. The fun part is you can totally use the card to buy something from the Cynthia Rowlery collection, OR you can use it on whatever you want from Macy’s! They carry pretty much everything you could possibly need (ranging from home goods, clothing, accessories and shoes, to beauty) which is why they are one of my absolute favorite department stores. I could seriously wander the Washington Square Macy’s all day long, getting lost in their exclusive brand departments (RACHEL by Rachel Roy and Bar III are hidden gems!) and their Benifit Brow Bar is my go-to for eyebrow waxes. I’ve linked to a few of my favorite products from Macy’s website down at the bottom of this post, just in case you need some inspiration for how to spend your winnings :)
This shirt is totally out of my comfort zone, but I kind of love it. I’ve always been a little wary of anything that draws too much attention to the upper part of my body because of my fuller bust, so I had a major eye roll moment when I saw that one of this year’s biggest trends was voluminous tops… But honestly, they’re really starting to grow on me. After all, fashion should be, above all else, fun. And sometimes it’s a good idea to forget all the rules you think you know about what’s flattering on your body and just embrace whatever your drawn to. And for whatever reason, I was totally drawn to this crazy shirt.
_______________ OUTFIT DETAILS gifted Shein top | Gap jeans (old, similar here) | Steve Madden shoes (also obsessed with these) | River Island handbag (and similar style here) | Etsy necklace | gifted Monica Vinader ring
The exact top I’m wearing here is unfortunately sold out at the moment, but SheIn has about a million other adorable statement tops (all under $20!) on their website. Their site is perfect for trendy items because everything is literally so cheap! And the quality is surprisingly good for the price, although I do recommend reading the reviews on each item to learn more about the fit before ordering. I’ve linked to some of my favorite statement tops from SheIn on the widget at the bottom of this post.

The midi dress + leather jacket combination is one I always seem to fall back on. Anything that is easy, comfortable and makes me feel pulled-together with little-to-no effort is a winner in my book.
Of course, stripes never went out of style – but I’m loving all the fun (not nautical or preppy) options there are this year! It’s certainly one of my favorite spring trends and obviously super easy to wear. My dress has long sold out (from an Australian boutique) but I’ve linked to a few other great stripe options in the outfit details section below!
Aside from a casual double date on Friday night (that I wore this outfit to), I spent most of the weekend relaxing. Carter and I stayed home and watched the Duck game at our place Saturday night. Ugh. Such a sad loss! I’m not even a sports fan but it still tugged at my heart strings to see my alma mater make history this year, then lose in such a close game!
This coming Thursday I’m heading to Whistler for my friend Emily’s Bachelorette Party! It should be a blast – I’m throwing it so I should know :) Feel free to follow along on Instagram and Instagram stories to see what we’re up to while we’re there.
Have a great week!
