Macy’s Gift Card Giveaway (Closed) + Life Update

Distressed jeans with cage sandals and an off the shoulder top

Hello lovely readers! Remember me? Sorry I’ve been a so MIA lately. In case you haven’t heard, we bought a house and moved this month (I know, it happened so quickly). Because of time constraints, poor Carter had to take care of the move all by himself while I was in on a last-minute work trip to Texas. Then pretty much as soon as I got home and we’d barely had the chance to start unpacking, I got super sick and was stuck in bed for a week. Then it was my bestie’s wedding in Hood River last weekend. In other words, the last 30 days have been crrraaazzzyyy. Mostly good (except for my bout of illness), but cray.

At any rate, you may remember back on May 31st when I blew up your instagram stories with boomerangs of me trying on the new Cynthia Rowley Collection for Macy’s. Such a fun collection! I also promised you a $100 Macy’s gift card giveaway! Well, I’m finally ready to deliver on that promise. The fun part is you can totally use the card to buy something from the Cynthia Rowlery collection, OR you can use it on whatever you want from Macy’s! They carry pretty much everything you could possibly need (ranging from home goods, clothing, accessories and shoes, to beauty) which is why they are one of my absolute favorite department stores. I could seriously wander the Washington Square Macy’s all day long, getting lost in their exclusive brand departments (RACHEL by Rachel Roy and Bar III are hidden gems!) and their Benifit Brow Bar is my go-to for eyebrow waxes. I’ve linked to a few of my favorite products from Macy’s website down at the bottom of this post, just in case you need some inspiration for how to spend your winnings :)

Wedding guest dresses under $200

It’s that time of year again: Wedding Season! And the search for the perfect, affordable, and stylish dress is ON. These are some of my favorite dresses under $200 (many of which are even under $100). I’m loving all the romantic off-the-shoulder and one-strap styles this year. It’s the perfect way to show just a hint of skin but keep most things to the imagination.

Which is your favorite? It’s so hard for me to choose! I tried this one on in-store (they didn’t have my size) and it’s so gorgeous in person! The photo online doesn’t do it justice – the color is so rich and beautiful! And this one just came online today and I’m obsessed with it. All the summer weddings I have coming up call for semi-formal or cocktail attire, but if I had a black-tie wedding to go to, I would absolutely buy this one. So sassy and on-trend this season.

These dress roundups are always some of my favorite posts to put together. What can I say? I just looove love, and I looove wedding season! Let me know what you think and if you end up wearing any of these to any of your upcoming events.

This shirt is totally out of my comfort zone, but I kind of love it. I’ve always been a little wary of anything that draws too much attention to the upper part of my body because of my fuller bust, so I had a major eye roll moment when I saw that one of this year’s biggest trends was voluminous tops… But honestly, they’re really starting to grow on me. After all, fashion should be, above all else, fun. And sometimes it’s a good idea to forget all the rules you think you know about what’s flattering on your body and just embrace whatever your drawn to. And for whatever reason, I was totally drawn to this crazy shirt.

The exact top I’m wearing here is unfortunately sold out at the moment, but SheIn has about a million other adorable statement tops (all under $20!) on their website. Their site is perfect for trendy items because everything is literally so cheap! And the quality is surprisingly good for the price, although I do recommend reading the reviews on each item to learn more about the fit before ordering. I’ve linked to some of my favorite statement tops from SheIn on the widget at the bottom of this post.

What to Buy from the Shopbop Event of the Season Sale

Shopbop – my go-to retailer for quality trend pieces and designer fashion – just kicked off a MAJOR site-wide sale!

Take 20% off your entire order (OR 25% off orders of $500 or more) with code EVENT17 now through Friday, April 14th.

This is a great time to stock up on staples (like denim!) or fun spring and summer pieces! I’ve already placed an order for these, these and this. Check out my other recommendations below or start shopping the sale here.

(Prices shown before the discount – so take 20-25% off the listed prices. Click on any of the products below to shop.)

There are a myriad of reasons why Shopbop is tied with Nordstrom as my favorite retailer right now. If you’re looking for something well-made and stylish, you’re pretty much guaranteed to find it at Shopbop. Free and fast shipping (and free returns), styling suggestions at the bottom of every product page, and their well-curated selection of affordable fashion and designer options are just a few of the many reasons Shopbop is killing it right now.

Unfortunately, all the things I just mentioned are poorly kept secrets. So whenever Shopbop runs a site-wide sale like this, the good stuff tends to sell out fast! So if you see something you can’t live without, be sure to jump on it asap!
